About me
From working on industry funded research projects to building university – business interactions I have spent my career spanning the boundaries between industry, academia and policy.
Most recently I worked for Anglian Water to create the Anglian Centre for Water Studies, a research centre focussed on Water, Society and Environment. I was the Deputy Director of the ARIES doctoral training partnership Aries | Doctoral Training Partnership supporting the involvement of industry partners in the training of early career researchers and am part of the Natural Environment Research Council’s Talent Peer Review College.
How I can help you?
I believe innovation happens at the interfaces of sectors, businesses, research and policy. But working together to deliver projects that are beneficial to all partners is difficult. I can help you realise the benefits of collaboration through:
- Helping organisations understand where they have common objectives which can be better delivered through working together. Often organisations want to work together but aren’t sure what exactly they can do together or how. I can help clients define the scope of the collaboration and help in the implementation.
- Supporting the development of bids to fund collaborative and strategic projects for example I worked with a diverse group to successfully bid to the Ofwat Innovation Fund for the Enabling Water Smart Communities project.
- Co-designing and delivering workshops which give clear outcomes for the development of new projects and partnerships.
- Linking businesses with research organisations and helping facilitate good working relationships across different organisational cultures.
- Developing innovation training for early career researchers. I worked with ARIES and other doctoral training partnerships, infohackit – Training and events to support the impact of scientific research and The Big Bang Partnership to create enviroSPRINT.
